Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has heaped a lot of praise on Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo, insisting that the young attacker is pure talent and one who already has a bright future ahead of him. It is always a rare occurrence for Chelsea’s current or past players to hail United’s stars because of the rivalry that exists between the two clubs but Drogba’s recent actions have been because he shares the same nationality with Diallo.

Amad Diallo was signed by Manchester United from Italian Serie A side Atalanta last summer but was allowed to continue with the club where he spent the remainder of the season on loan. He then officially joined the Red Devils in January and has been showing glimpses of being a worthy purchase. The youngster has earned the love of the Manchester United fans who have been calling on United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær to give him more minutes under his belt.

As a couple of other Red Devils stars, Diallo is currently away on international duty with his country and he stole the headlines once more after being the hero for the Ivory Coast as he helped them snatch a late victory over Cameroon by scoring a 97th-minute free-kick. His late goal attracted a lot of attention from the media, United fans, and of course, Drogba.

The former Chelsea striker reacted to that goal on social media by uploading Diallo’s picture and in his caption, he hailed the young attacker, while also asking people to remember the name as he will become a star in the future.

Diallo has had to play for the Manchester United youth team more than he has played for the senior squad and that’s because there’s tough competition in the United attack. However, he is expected to be more involved next season.
